Yup, another firearms related blog. I’m Scott, the owner and chief instructor for Focus Firearms Training. No, I never servered in the military or in LE, but what I do bring to the table is a pure love and appreciation for our country, our military and our law enforcement personnel. I also have an incredible love and desire to show others how much fun sport shooting is and how important it is to be able to comfortably protect self, family and friends. I am a Texas Department of Public Safety Certified Concealed Handgun Instructor, an NRA member, an NRA Range Safety Officer, an NRA Pistol Instructor, and a firearms safety and proficiency instructor.
In 1985 I had a friend who’s wife was killed by an intruder in their home. My friend gave his wife a .22 to put under her pillow while he was working night shift. But, the tragedy of it all, besides her untimely death, was the fact that she had no clue how to use the gun. She was never taught and had never even fired a shot. She was killed with her very own gun. It wasn’t until years later that I started to put my money where my mouth was about wanting to learn to protect myself and my friends and family members. I am committed to teach anyone, no matter the age, the safety, the mechanics and the responsbility of gun ownership. It is my passion.
I hope you will be a part of my family of enthusiasts.
